Buy Local, Build Local: CEMAP, Eagle, Supported by CEMEX, Champion Local Cement

The Buy Local, Build Lokal campaign, spearheaded by the Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CEMAP) and Eagle Cement Corporation in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is designed to support the Philippine cement industry amid challenges from increased foreign imports and market disruptions. The campaign’s goal is to encourage both consumers and developers to prioritize locally produced cement, fostering industry growth, protecting jobs, and reducing dependence on imports. By advocating for local procurement, the campaign aims to strengthen domestic cement manufacturing and boost economic resilience. CEMEX is a staunch supporter of this campaign.

As a partner of the campaign and CEMEX’s PR agency of choice, NGP Integrated Marketing Communications promoted the Buy Local, Build Lokal initiative by raising awareness of the importance of the local cement industry through relevant press releases. We also emphasized sustainability, job retention, and the economic benefits of using Philippine-made materials. Through clear messaging, NGP-IMC assisted in aligning public and private stakeholders, reinforcing the industry’s contributions to GDP, job creation, and environmental stewardship, and paving the way for sustained industry growth amidst competitive pressures.
